Privacy

This site counts page views so the shop knows what people are looking at. It sets no cookies for visitors, uses no advertising or third-party analytics service, and never stores your IP address.

What gets recorded when you visit

Each page view stores five things:

• the page address, such as /inventory
• which item, if it was an item page
• the site you arrived from, if any — the domain only, such as google.com
• the time
• a visitor code

The visitor code is a one-way hash of your IP address, your browser's user agent string, a secret, and the current date. The IP address and user agent are used to calculate it and are then discarded — neither is written to disk. Because the date is part of the hash, the code changes every night, so visits cannot be connected from one day to the next.

That is enough to count how many people looked at a particular item and roughly how many separate people visited on a given day. It is not enough to identify anyone, follow anyone between days, or build a profile.

Records are deleted after 13 months.

Cookies

None for visitors. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to: no cookies, no local storage, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags.

Shop staff who sign in to the admin area get one cookie that keeps them signed in. Failed sign-in attempts to that area record the IP address for fifteen minutes, so that repeated guessing can be slowed down. Those records are deleted automatically.

Other services

• The map on the Visit page is embedded from OpenStreetMap and loads when you scroll to it. Your browser fetches the map from openstreetmap.org, and they see your IP address in the process, as happens with any site your browser contacts. The map on the home page is a flat picture stored on this site and contacts nobody at all.
• Item photos are served from Cloudflare R2.
• Fonts are served from this site, not from Google Fonts.
• There are no advertising networks, social media pixels, or third-party analytics services on any page.

What this site does not do

• No accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter.
• No online checkout and no payment processing of any kind.
• Nothing is sold, shared, or handed to anyone else.
